DECEMBER 19, 2018 in TORONTO: The Art Bar Poetry Series presents “Dead Poet’s Night with 12 readers reading the works of deceased writers. Guest host: David Clink. 8 p.m. NOTE LOCATION CHANGE: Supermarket, 268 Augustine Ave. Cover charge.

DECEMBER 18, 2018 in TORONTO: Shab-e She’r (Poetry Night), Toronto’s most diverse poetry reading and open mic series features poets Meena Chopra and Casey Garcia with hosts Banoo Zan and Terese Pierre, doors open at 6:15 p.m. Open-mic sign-up at 6:30 p.m. and Show starts at 7 p.m. There is an admission charge. Tranzac Club, 292 Brunswick Avenue.

DECEMBER 17, 2018 in SARNIA: “Open Stage” at the Lawrence House Centre for the Arts. Hosted by singer-songwriters Missy Burgess. To be held the second and third Monday of each month except July and August. Welcomes music, poetry, storytelling, prose and those who wish to just listen. 7 to 9 p.m.

DECEMBER 16, 2018 in KENSINGTON: The Secret Handshake presents the Poetry Reading Series featuring burning iceberg, Patrick Connors, Matthew Grimm, and Clifton Joseph. Master of Ceremonies will be Chad Juriansz. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. at 170A Baldwin Street.

DECEMBER 10, 2018  in POINT EDWARD: Writers Helping Writers (WHW) workshop: Lambton County writers are invited to a weekly workshop for writers, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. each Monday (except holiday Mondays and the summer months of July and August) at Point Edward Library on Michigan Avenue.
