JUNE 20, 2023 ONLINE: The League of Canadian Poets presents the 2023 Annual General Meeting, 2 p.m. EST via Zoom. Check the League website for additional information.

APRIL 1 TO 30, 2023 ACROSS CANADA: The League of Canadian Poets presents National Poetry Month. The 2023 theme is ‘JOY’.

APRIL 27 TO 30, 2023: 1000 Islands Writer Festival (formerly Gananoque Literary Festival) will celebrate storytelling through words, music and art in Gananoque, Ontario. More details TBA.

APRIL 19, 2023 IN LONDON: Antler River Poetry presents featured poets: Matt Robinson and Randall Adjei, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Landon Branch of the London Public Library, 167 Wortley Road. NOTE: A reminder that all guests are being asked to wear a mask to the event; masks will be provided for those who do not have one. Admission is free.

FEBRUARY 25, 2023 IN ST CATHARINES: The Niagara Branch of the Canadian Authors Association presents the FREE workshop “Writing Science Fiction” with author Leo Audette from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Catharines Public Library, 54 Church Street. FEBRUARY 20, 2023 IN SARNIA: Open Stage continues on the second and third Monday evenings every month, at 7 p.m. at the Lawrence House Centre for the Arts, 127 Christina Street South. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.  Musicians, poets, storytellers, and writers are welcome to the microphone to perform in a quiet intimate setting. Sign-up at at the door. Hosted by Gregger Botting. Open to the public. Admission is free.

FEBRUARY 16, 2023 ONLINE: Collusion Books presents the “Seasons 4 & 5 Launch Party” celebrating the 8 chapbooks (and 44 poets) published in 2022, starting at 8 p.m. EST. The live YouTube premiere will feature videopoems and readings from contributing poets and translators. See the poster below for the featured chapbooks. FEBRUARY 9, 2023 IN BARRIE AND ONLINE: Word Up Barrie presents  a “Black History Month Panel” featuring Oliver Joseph (songwriter and recording artist), Tyneisha Ternent (current poet laureate of Barrie) and Tru aka RoyalTee the Eccentric 1 (Dub-Poetry and Spoken Word artist), 7 to 9 p.m. This hybrid event will also include a question period and an open mic, at the Barrie Public Library and via ZOOM. FEBRUARY 4, 2023 ON THE RADIO: Watershed Writers presents Laurie D. Graham in a discussion about her latest work Fast Commute.  Hosted by Tanis MacDonald 10 a.m. on Midtown Radio. The interview will also be posted later on Sound Cloud.

FEBRUARY 3, 2023 IN SARNIA: A Spoken Word event will be held as part of the opening night/award ceremony of “One True Sentence, a Lambton College Arts Collective Exhibition”, 7 p.m. at The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts, 127 Christina Street.
