DECEMBER 20, 2022 IN TORONTO: The Art Bar Poetry Series presents “Dead Poets Night” with tribute readings followed by a short open mic for others who wish to share work from a poet who has passed on, 7 to 9ish p.m. at Clinton’s Bar 693 Bloor Street West. DECEMBER 19, 2022 IN SARNIA: Open Stage continues on the second and third Monday evenings of every month, at 7 p.m. at the Lawrence House Centre for the Arts, 127 Christina Street South. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.  Musicians, poets, storytellers, and writers are welcome to the microphone to perform in a quiet intimate setting. Sign-up at at the door. Hosted by Gregger Botting and John Pilat. Open to the public. Admission is free.

DECEMBER 16, 2022 IN LONDON: The London book launch of Mouthfuls of Space (Anvil press, 2021) by Tom Prime. Prime will be joined by David Barrick, launching his new chapbook Stratford and the Copyist (The Alfred Gustav Press, 2022). Special guest readings from poets Jennifer Komorowski,Dave Monture, and Blair Trwartha. The event takes place 6 to 7 p.m. at TAP: Centre for Creativity, 203 Dundas Street. Please note: all attendees are asked to wear masks.

DECEMBER 13, 2022 IN SARNIA: The Book Keeper presents the launch of Monday,  It’s Partly Cloudy, a poetry collection by Teighan Gibson, 7 p.m. at The Book Keeper, 500 Exmouth Street. Admission is free.

DECEMBER 8, 2022 ONLINE: The Eden Mill Writers’ Festival presents “The Writing Life: A New Online Event Series” that will explore the life of some of Canada’s most interesting storytellers. The second featured storyteller is Ann-Marie MacDonald, playwright, novelist and author of Fayne, 7 p.m. EDT via ZOOM. Hosted by Susan G. Cole. DECEMBER 6, 2022 IN TORONTO: The Art Bar Poetry Series presents featured guests: Veronica Wilde and Jessica Robinson, followed by an open mic, 7 to 9ish p.m. at Clinton’s Bar 693 Bloor Street West. Please note: there is a cover charge. 

DECEMBER 2, 2022 IN SARNIA: First Friday Poetry Reading and Music presents the launch of My Name is Mary: Poems by Rhonda Melanson, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Turret Room of the Lawrence House Centre for the Arts, 127 Christina Street South.  Rhonda will read from her collection and will be accompanied by local singer/songwriter Missy Burgess. Admission is free.

DECEMBER 2, 2022 IN OTTAWA: Octopus Books presents an evening of poetry with a trio of talented writers: Louis Cabri, Jorge Etcheverry Arcaya and Chris Turnbull, 7 to 8 p.m. at Octopus Books, 116 Third Avenue.

DECEMBER 1, 2022 IN THUNDER BAY: Marianne Jones will launch her new novel Death on the Water, 7 p.m. at Entershine Bookshop, 196 Algoma Street South. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

DECEMBER 1, 2022 IN COBOURG: Award-winning author Antony Di Nardo will launch his new poetry collection Forget-Sadness-Grass, 7 p.m. at Let’s Talk Books, 25 King Street East. Advance registration required by contacting the bookstore.
